A DNA sequence encoding the C-terminal fragment (Gly 362-Ala 555) of influenza B virus (B/Florida/4/2006) (ACA33493.1) hemagglutinin, termed as HA2, was fused with the Fc region of human IgG1 at the N-terminus.

The recombinant Influenza B virus (B/Florida/4/2006) HA2/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein. The reduced monomer comprises 452 amino acids with the predicted molecular mass of 49.3 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, it migrates as an approximately 60 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
