A DNA sequence encoding the mouse S100B (P50114) (Ser2-Glu92) was expressed with the fused Fc region of human IgG1 at the N-terminus.

1. Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA.
2. Immobilized recombinant mouse S100B-Fc (Cat:501138) at 10 μg/ml (100 μl/well) can bind biotinylated recombinant human AGER (Cat:11629-HNCH) with a linear range of 0.03-0.5 ug/ml.

The recombinant mouse S100B/Fc comprises 351 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 39 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 41 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.

Protein S100-B

Weakly binds calcium but binds zinc very tightly-distinct binding sites with different affinities exist for both ions on each monomer. Physiological concentrations of potassium ion antagonize the binding of both divalent cations, especially affecting high-affinity calcium-binding sites. Binds to and initiates the activation of STK38 by releasing autoinhibitory intramolecular interactions within the kinase. Interaction with AGER after myocardial infarction may play a role in myocyte apoptosis by activating ERK1/2 and p53/TP53 signaling. Could assist ATAD3A cytoplasmic processing, preventing aggregation and favoring mitochondrial localization. May mediate calcium-dependent regulation on many physiological processes by interacting with other proteins, such as TPR-containing proteins, and modulating their activity (By similarity).
