Angiopep-2 is a peptide derived from the Kunitz domain, which show a high brain penetration capability to overcome the the blood-brain barrier (BBB). More and more publications indicates that the Angiopep-2 could be advantageously used as a new brain delivery system for pharmacological agents that do not readily enter the brain. The Angiopep-2(TFFYGGSRGKRNNFKTEEY) peptide has a high transcytosis capacity and can accumulate in brain parenchyma compared with aprotinin.
