    Recombinant Human Polyadenylate-binding protein 1 (PABP-1) Fragment (amino acids 1-387) is a high-purity protein designed for studying mRNA metabolism and stability. This fragment includes all four RNA recognition motifs (RRM 1-4), making it an ideal tool for investigating poly(A) tail binding, translational regulation, and RNA-protein interactions in cellular processes.

    Polyadenylate-binding protein 1 (PABP-1), encoded by the PABPC1 gene, is a key regulator of mRNA metabolism in human cells. It binds to the poly(A) tails of mRNAs, influencing splicing, stability, and translational initiation. PABP-1 interacts with partners like PAIP1 and PAIP2 to modulate translation and contributes to nonsense-mediated decay (NMD) by competing with UPF1. It also binds N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-modified mRNAs, such as MYC, enhancing their stability. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, PABP-1 shuttles to the nucleus and forms stress granules under cellular stress. Additionally, it plays a role in viral replication, such as with dengue virus, and protects poly(A) tails from uridylation to maintain mRNA integrity.
