    The full-length TPR protein (also known as Megator or Translocated promoter region protein) serves as a critical structural component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC), functioning as a scaffolding element essential for nucleocytoplasmic transport of proteins and mRNAs. It plays multifaceted roles in nuclear organization, including establishment of chromatin compartmentalization, quality control of unspliced mRNAs, and regulation of spindle-assembly checkpoint signaling during mitosis. TPR localizes primarily to the nuclear basket of NPCs but demonstrates dynamic subcellular redistribution during cell division, associating with spindle apparatus and kinetochores.
