It binds to specific DNA sequences and recruits chromatin modifiers like HDAC1 to suppress transcription, playing critical roles in erythropoiesis, adipogenesis, TGF-beta signaling, and androgen receptor pathways. The full-length protein is nuclear-localized and also participates in DNA repair via non-homologous end joining.
